The mother of the groom never seems to get any respect. I was warned to "show up...shut up... and wear beige".

I'm happy to say that didn't happen at our son's wedding. He and his bride asked my advice a few times. Before the wedding, it was "Me" to the rescue with needle and thread to help mend her crinoline after the hem was torn.

And...I didn't wear beige. I wore Aubergine!!!

Hello Patt

I love the 70 years young approach! I understand what you may be going through with the mascara. Perhaps a waterproof mascara is the way to go for you. Try applying only to the top lashes. Sometimes the lower lashes are the culprit because of the natural shape of the eye. With a brown, black or gray eye pencil line the inside rim of your lower lashes. This will give you some definition to the eyes and perhaps less smearing. A tiny bit of matching eyeshadow under the lower lashes will assist in keeping the pencil in place.

As for the eyebrows, I use an eye shadow instead of a pencil for a softer more natural look. You will need a shadow closest to the color of your brow hairs and an angle brush to apply the color. This type of brush will give you more definition to the shape of the brow. Blend the color into the brow by brushing up with a brow brush. Please take a moment to view the eyebrow video that is on the Midnight Velvet website as well for a visual.

Hopefully these hints are helpful to you. Please let me know how these ideas work and if there is anything else I can help you with.

Best Regards,
xoxo

I am a (young) 70 year old woman who has had a whole lifetime of hardly any eyebrows - be them thin and light....when I try to "color" them in, most times it's a disaster.
